TRANSMISSION COMPANY ADDS MUFFLER
PRO TO ITS TEAM

Mid-State Transmission has recently added another pro to its team of repair technicians. Keith Crutchley has joined Mid-State as Lead Muffler Technician and is heading up the new Custom Muffler Distributorship.

For nearly 25 years, Keith has been repairing and building custom muffler and exhaust systems in Bloomington-Normal. In his new position at Mid-State, he is able to fit nearly any vehicle on the road with custom performance mufflers using a state-of-the-art pipe bending machine to fabricate the pipes. Because the pipe used in an exhaust system comes in straight, 10-foot lengths, each must be custom fit to a vehicle.

According to owner Jerry Adams, “what Keith does is really an art form. It takes a great talent to bend these pipes, and Keith is probably the best around at what he does. We are lucky to have him on our team.”

In addition to his work with muffler and exhaust systems, Keith is also certified for brake repair and will be working with the other technicians at Mid-State on transmission repair, brakes, and suspension.

Keith, a native and current resident of Bloomington-Normal, lives with his wife and two stepsons.

This year marks Mid-State Transmission’s 25th anniversary of rebuilding and repairing transmissions in Bloomington-Normal. It serves the general public, as well as the needs of local auto shops, with its transmission outsourcing division called Transmissions 2 Go. And, it recently added a Custom Muffler Distributorship to provide customers with performance muffler and exhaust systems.
