FREE LUNCH, CONTESTS, AND PRIZES PROVIDED TO LOCAL AUTO SERVICE WORKERS

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2006, Mid-State Transmission will host a free picnic for all local automotive service professionals. The event will be held at Mid-State Transmission, 1408 Fort Jesse Road, Normal.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has declared June 12 through June 18 as Automotive Service Professionals Week, and Mid-State Transmission is hosting the picnic to honor the local men and women of the automotive service industry. Various events will also be held during the picnic to celebrate Mid-State Transmission’s 25th anniversary.

All people who work in the automotive service repair industry are invited to attend the picnic.

According to Mid-State Transmission owner, Jerry Adams, “We’re excited to celebrate the hard work that these men and women do each day as well as our 25th anniversary. It’s going to be a great afternoon.”

At the picnic, Mid-State Transmission will award scholarships to local automotive technicians seeking ASE certification. Scholarships are still available, and applications can be found on Mid-State Transmission’s Web site, www.midstatetransmission.net.

Auto technicians will also have the opportunity to vote on the “Coolest Car in McLean County,” a contest being sponsored by Mid-State to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Any McLean County residents wishing to enter the car contest may download an application at www.midstatetransmission.net. The deadline for submitting a scholarship or Cool Car Contest application has been extended to June 9, 2006.

The picnic will also include grilled foods, beverages, games, and prizes such as a La-Z-Boy recliner, a carwash kit, a remote control car, and much more.
