Mid-State Transmission
Recognized as one of Best in Nation
November 26, 2007
Over 600 auto shops across the nation submitted applications for CARQUEST’s Excellence Award and one of the eleven finalists was Bloomington-Normal’s Mid-State Transmission. Finalists were selected based on criteria including industry involvement, technical competency, community involvement, professional image, and customer service. Mid-State owner, Jerry Adams, was honored to hear his shop was selected as a finalist.
“Our team works really hard to provide good service, make all of our customers feel comfortable, and keep current with training and education. It is rewarding to know we are among the top shops in the country,” said Adams.
“CARQUEST is dedicated to the independent shop owner,” Mike DeSorbo, CARQUEST Director of Market Segments said. “Jerry Adams of Mid-State Transmission is one of the very best in the country at providing excellent automotive service to their customers.”
Finalists and the winner, a shop from Oregon, were selected by editors of top auto industry trade publications and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Technical representatives. Jerry Adams was recognized October 19, 2007, in Rochester, MI, at CARQUEST’s 16th annual Excellence Awards ceremony, held at the Chrysler Museum.
The Mid-State team completes much training; all Mid-State technicians are either certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence or are working toward certification. Other certifications have been awarded through the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) and the Automatic Transmission Service Group (ATSG).
Mid-State Transmission has been serving customers in Central Illinois since 1981. They specialize in transmission repairs and rebuilds and also provide complete service for any other auto repair needs, including engine and drive train problem diagnosis, clutch replacement, fluid flushes, brake service, and differential repair. In 2006 Keith “the Muffler Man” Crutchley joined the team and Mid-State began offering custom exhaust installations.
CARQUEST Auto Parts, who conducts the contest, is the premier supplier of replacement products, accessories, supplies, and equipment for virtually all makes and models
of automobiles, as well as light and heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, buses, recreational vehicles, and agricultural equipment. BACK
