History
1981: Owners Jerry Adams and John
Maurer renovate an old gas station and open
Mid-State Transmission on February 1, 1981
in Bloomington, Illinois.
1985: Business
is booming and 4,800 square feet are added
to the shop.
1991: John
sells his portion of the business to Jerry
to pursue a farming opportunity.
1999: Mid-State
moves to current 10,000 square foot location
on Fort Jesse Road in Normal, Illinois.
2006: Transmissions-2-Go division
is launched, which allows area shops to purchase
rebuilt transmissions from Mid-State or sub-contract
jobs to Mid-State.
About Our
Team
The long-term Mid-State Transmission
team, led by owner Jerry Adams, prides themselves
on their expertise. All technicians are either
certified by the National Institute for Automotive
Service Excellence (ASE), or are working towards
certification.
Due to the hard work of
the team, other certifications have been
awarded through the Automatic
Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) and the Automatic
Transmission Service Group (ATSG).
